Fucked Up Sounds Epic on “House of Keys”

Tornoto’s Fucked Up have never been the band to do things the way anyone thinks that they should, so announcing a new double album called Dose Yourself seems about right. Stage names, releasing a rock opera, and live shows that are as interactive as they are intense, the group is back with a new album and new label, and it’s definitely about time.

On their lead single, “House of Keys,” it’s easy to see why Merge Records picked them up, and that they’re back with a vengeance in many ways as well. Opening with dark synths before all hell breaks loose, the screaming, the intense riffs, and the speedy stride all hearken back to the sound the band became known for from their early days. With a fevered pace, the song makes the anticipation of their upcoming double release even more awaited.

You can stream the track all you want above, or on all streaming platforms. The band’s double album Dose Yourself is available for pre-order directly from Merge Records, and will be available to the public on October 5. You can catch Fucked Up on tour starting in Toronto at Horsehoe Tavern and into 2019 in Hamberg at Molotow. Complete tour dates can be accessed here.
