The Regrettes may be a youthful band, but that doesn’t mean they’ll be silent. The punk trio just dropped an anthem of sorts in response to the antics of Brett Kavanaugh, and it’s pretty glorious. With “Poor Boy,” the three piece has no problem letting abhorrent men know that their time is up.
The lyrics are pretty obvious and there’s no need to decipher their meaning. As per singer Lydia Knight, “‘Poor Boy’ was written at a time of being completely fed up and disgusted by all of the awful humans who think it’s okay to assault and rape others. This one is for Kavanaugh and all the other nasty men who think that this behavior is okay in any capacity. We won’t accept it and we will continue to fight against it.”
You can stream the track on all streaming platforms, you can purchase their music in digital storefronts or directly from Warner Bros. Records and the band is encouraging fans to donate to anti-sexual assault organization RAINN. You can catch The Regrettes on tour starting November 27 in Denver at Marquis Theater until December 16 at House of Blues in San Diego. A complete list of their tour dates can be found here.
