There was a band we caught last year from Tokyo called ENDON, and they’re easily the most intense live band we’d caught in almost a decade. Mixing elements of metal, screamo and noise, they’re dark and mysterious while also insane sounding. Their singer can go from a bellowed growl to a screeching pitch in record time, and do that all night. They just signed to Thrill Jockey, and the details of their upcoming album Boy Meets Girl are out. Below, a trailer for the record should introduce you to the bizarre world in which they inhabit.
The new album will host eight tracks, all of which should bring the level of crazed sounds to a maximum. While their photo and their album art don’t look like how we’re describing them, thirty seconds into this video and you should hear or see what we’re talking about. We’re pretty excited for the record’s release, and to hear what kind of epic darkness they bring to their new release.
The band’s upcoming tour dates were also just announced, and by the company they’re keeping, you should get an idea of the circles they’re in.
