Don’t Sleep on Australia’s Middle Kids

Australia has proven to be a great source of music in 2018. Alongside their insanely massive country scene, there’s a plethora of indie bands that are just wonderful. One of those acts is Sydney trio Middle Kids. This year plenty of people seemed to almost not notice their wonderful full length, Lost Friends. With their latest single “Salt Eyes,” we hope more people pay attention to this dreamy three piece.

The song dropped in October, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worthy of a listen now. Touches of indie rock and dream pop are all over the song, complete with airy vocals that just dance in your head like faded memories. The pacing of the song never lets up, there’s a hook heavy chorus as well that should stir your soul and give you the feels.

You can stream the band’s catalog wherever you stream music, you can purchase their music from all digital shops including Bandcamp, or directly from Domino Records. Middle Kids will be on tour again in Australia  starting February 02 at Saint Jerome’s Laneway Festival in Fortitude Valley and ends February 15 at Mountain Sounds Festival in Somersby. A complete list of their tour dates can be found here

David Garrick has spent the last five years interviewing some of the most intriguing and engaging artists performing today. Everyone from Angel Olsen to Phoebe Bridgers, Wire to Yo La Tengo, Snail Mail to Soccer Mommy, Ghost to First Aid Kit, The Breeders to Protomartyr, and many more. He's a giant fan of music of pretty much any genre; but especially to the underdogs. He's been known to see more concerts in a week than many people will see in a year.
