For a while we’ve been fans of Houston’s Adam Bricks. There’s hints of painful sorrow in his voice that reminds us of every great singer songwriter that came before him, while his arrangements are at the top of the music industry. On his latest single “Try,” he proves that you can’t keep a great artist down while making strides since his last release, the beautifully crafted full length Relations.
Opening with an acoustic strum before the lead guitar wiggles in, Bricks’ vocals sound more emotive and more deep than on previous releases. There’s something magical in how the drums and the guitars sound like a mix of minstrels and seasoned veterans playing into the moonlight. There’s a tremolo guitar that comes in and just adds to the sweetness, proving that Bricks can still mystify us with his incredible songwriting while holding our ears from beginning to end.
You can stream “Try” on all streaming platforms when it gets released January 18, and you can preorder it from iTunes or purchase it in all digital storefronts as well. Adam Bricks is in the finishing touches of his next full length, out on The What of Whom Records. For now, you can follow him on Facebook and Instagram for more information on what he has planned for the future.
