Australia’s Julia Jacklin seems to do no wrong. With an E.P. and a full length in the can, a successful tour of the states last year as well, Jacklin could rest but instead she’s gearing up for a new full length release. The new album, Crushing is due February 22 and her new single “Pressure To Party” shows that it could contain plenty of upbeat gems.
The piano driven song is snappy and quick, with Jacklin singing in a fast stride that immediately captures your attention. The song is so catchy, her signature voice goes between quick and emotive, it works in so many ways you’ll wish it was longer than just a couple of hairs beneath the three minute mark. The video, has some of the tongue-in-cheek humor Jacklin has displayed in small doses over the years, and fits the vibe of the song perfectly.
You can stream “Pressure To Party” on all streaming sites, you can purchase the song on digital sites and on Bandcamp as well. You can also preorder Crushing directly from Polyvinyl Records before it comes out on February 22. Julia Jacklin will be on tour starting February 21 at Chevron Gardens in Perth until June 05 in Houston at White Oak Music Hall. A complete list of her tour dates can be found here.
