For a while now, we’d been hearing of England’s Cavetown, the twenty year old folk pop sensation who sold out the bulk of his tour. Cavetown, also known as Robin Skinner has made waves in releasing a steady stream of music since 2015, and we were pleased to go catch him perform.
Skinner mixed the set, sometimes playing solo, sometimes playing with Spookyghostboy with whom he shares music with on his latest “Ash.” It was apparent early on that while Spookyghostboy was cheered when he opened the show, the Cavetown set was what everyone in attendance was there for. Any time he spoke to the crowd, they went nuts. People sang along to his mixed set of newer tracks and older fan favorites. With the bulk of the audience being either those under eighteen or their accompanying parents, the show never really got sad and everyone seemed to enjoy what Skinner brought to the room.
You can stream all of the Cavetown catalog on all streaming sites, you can purchase his music in digital shops including on Bandcamp, and you can buy physical copies from his online shop. Cavetown will be on tour throughout the U.S. tomorrow night in Phoenix, AZ at Rebel Lounge until February 23 at Marquis Theater in Denver, CO. He returns to touring in Europe on May 01 at Hoxton Hall in London until May 05 in Newcastle at Hit the North Festival. A complete listing of his upcoming shows can be accessed here.
