Martin Frawley is a name to some and an unknown to others. As co-leader of the Australian jangle pop band Twerps, Frawley is worth noting in his own right. The latest two singles off of his upcoming album Undone At 31 due later this month, definitely have our ears perked, and make us ready for what the album will truly be.
The first of these, “Chain Reaction” is pure indie pop that’s hard not to like. Intertwined with hooks and a snappy stride, Frawley definitely holds your attention with a catchy track that has notes of electronic drums and just an all around feel good vibe.
The most recent, “End Of The Bar” is still really upbeat and catchy, but feels closer to orchestral pop than traditional pop. Frawley stands out here, offering plenty of weight in how he presents the song. Plenty of piano and pop drums are met with Frawley’s deadpan vocals. The end result is a track that’s as intriguing as it is memorable.
You can stream both songs on all streaming platforms, you can purchase them as well as the first two singles from the album in all digital shops. You can preorder Undone At 31 directly from Merge Records before its release date of February 22. Martin Frawley will be the artist-in-residence as part of Brunswick Music Festival in Melbourne March 03 through March 17.
