We’ve been fans of Lucy Dacus for a while, just like we’ve been fans of intimate shows for as long as many of us have covered music. For the sold out set we saw from Dacus, the crowd was on their best behavior and Dacus shined through from beginning to end. After a song that she asked no one to record and they all obliged, and even an issue with her gear, the audience saddled in for a set that was heavy with her latest release Historian, while touching on many of her more upbeat tracks from earlier releases. Start to finish, Dacus captivated the crowd with jokes about wearing a turtleneck, and a generally easy going demeanor that won hearts and delighted those lucky enough to attend.

The opening set from Illuminati Hotties was something else entirely. Full of fan interactions and songs that got the audiences heads bopping, their high energy performance would have made anyone there an immediate fan.
