Billie Eilish has been going strong for a minute now, dropping plenty of tracks that stick in your head. On here latest drop, “wish you were gay,” Eilish takes the chill route and mixes in heavy synths and an infectious beat to pull you into her universe, note by note.

Eilish opens things and closes them here with audience applause, though the actual fanfare comes from how the track is laid out. Having a more chill wave stride and a dark touched synth throughout, Eilish relies on her soft vocals and a beat that sticks with you to drive the narrative. It’s simple, it’s catchy, and it all works to stick with you after one listen.
