Houston’s K. Campbell makes the kind of music that we’re always happy to experience. His debut full length Pure Pop For Jaded Punks reminded us of what might happen if Elliott Smith fronted a Ramones cover band. On his new single “Heads Up” he offers a more sunny side to his guitar driven sound.
The song is pretty easy going, while Campbell’s vocals softly touch the top of the relaxed sing song track. Full of melodies and catchy hooks, Campbell has no problem drawing you in with each sugary note, but not so much that you’ll get too much. It’s ultra-catchy, it’s sweet and it’s a song you’ll probably play on repeat after you hear it.
You can stream “Heads Up” on all streaming sites, you can purchase it in all digital shops including Bandcamp, or you can pick it up on a lathe cut clear 7″ or on cassette directly from Poison Moon Records. K. Campbell will appear next at Leon’s Lounge on March 09.
