Protomartyr to Reissue Out of Print Debut Album

For a long time, Detroit’s Protomartyr have captured the eyes of anyone paying attention to post-punk music. After a prolific 2018, the four piece known for raucous live sets and music that stands the test of time has just announced that they’ll be reissuing their debut album in May. The long sought after debut No Passion All Technique will be made available digitally for the first time as well as a deluxe vinyl with a zine for fans who’ve been paying high prices for it through Discogs. The band has shared the video for fan favorite “Jumbo’s” below and it should prep your ears for the record few people have actually heard.

Where “Jumbo’s” works is that it’s raw, it shows what happens when a band gets together to record a 7″ and and leaves with 21 songs of ferocity and intense darkness. The video, full of live footage of the band performing live also has glimpses into tour life, something these guys know well as they have been on the road for almost three years straight.

You can watch the video above or on YouTube, you can stream “Jumbos” on all streaming sites or you can purchase it on all online retailers. You can pre-order No Passion All Technique directly from Domino Records ahead of its release date of May 02. For the first time in a long time, there are no upcoming performances from Protomartyr scheduled, though that should change.
