It seems like Austin’s Walker Lukens has been going along for a good while, primarily because he has. In recent years we’ve seen his sound evolve to a more focused direction, offering pop hooks and a catchy beat to his already infectious indie rock vibes. On his new single “Heard You Bought a House” off of his upcoming album Adult due in late April, Lukens keeps us dancing while holding our attention from beginning to end.

There’s no denying that the song is catchy. Over the years Lukens has figured out how to add dance pop beats to his indie rock sound, creating music that you can rock out to and dance to at the same time. Here he takes that to a whole new place by adding organ and backing vocals to hone in that chill and fun sound he’s been crafting over the years. It’s a song you won’t lose from your head after you hear it, and it should prepare you for what Adult will sound like when it drops.
