The “Great Concerns” of Lust for Youth

Over the years, Lust for Youth has given us a dizzying array of sounds to occupy our minds. Their last release Compassion had the Swedish trio veering further into the dance pop world, while still keeping their toes close to their core sound. on their new single “Lust for Youth” from their upcoming self-titled new album due in June, they get a little more dancey while incorporating plenty of additions to hold your interest.

While they do steer into the dance pop world, the core of the track is steeped in darkwave and has little new wave and neo-goth touches. The opening is visceral, and sounds like how it feels to have the sun shine on your face in the cold. The vocals are high in the mix, keeping them in your ears while the music has plenty of dark touches that work so well, making anyone who hears the track excited for what the album will ultimately sound like. The hooks are definitely in full force here while the upbeat deployment of synths should make you want to get down.

You can stream “Great Concerns” on all streaming sites or purchase it from all online music shops. You can also pre-order their upcoming self-titled album directly from Sacred Bones Records ahead of its release on June 7. You can catch Lust for Youth in person on April 27 at Test Pressing Festival in London, U.K. at Hackney Wick.
