“Daylight Matters” Signals new Single & Album Announce From Cate Le Bon

For a long time, many of us have been fans of Welsh singer and producer Cate Le Bon. Her music is vastly different from the bulk of what gets played around the globe, and we find her to be a light in the darkness. Now with her new single “Daylight Matters” ahead of her upcoming album Reward due in May, she’s ready to show us all that she’s been working on more than producing albums for the likes of Deerhunter and others.

The song has a pop stride, though it’s not really a pop song. Full of heavy instrumentation, it has a lush opening before Le Bon’s signature vocals come in and begin to melt your heart. There’s a sing song nature to the song, though the way it’s mixed has her voice and the instruments at the forefront, creating a sound that’s eclectic and stunning, much like what you’re expecting from the artist. It works well, the way the vocals pop between the instruments creates a hook of its own, making you excited for what the full album will ultimately sound like.

You can stream the song on all streaming sites, you can buy it digitally from all online retailers or you can pre-order Reward directly from Mexican Summer ahead of its release on May 24. Cate Le Bon will be on tour beginning May 18 in Wrexham, U.K. at Focus Wales Festival until September 01 in Dorset, U.K. at End of the Road Festival.
