“Crow’s Perch” from black midi is More Intensity & Chaos From the Four Piece

We can completely understand if you’re not familiar with the post-punk intensity of London’s black midi. The band hasn’t been around for a good while, but in a short time they’ve made themselves well known with insane live sets and more intriguing music. On their new single “crow’s perch” they prove that the best is yet to come.

The four piece doesn’t do anything like anyone who came before them, which is what makes their sound so exciting. Dark and brooding, much like their recently released E.P., the song isn’t what you’re expecting. The way the bass noodles at the opening, the way the guitar comes in unassumingly, and the way the vocals pop and hit with a sharp tongue make the track one you can’t walk away from. The bombastic ending is a definite favorite component to the song, making it a win for the band so early on in their time together. We’re definitely excited for more from these guys after their recent signing to Rough Trade.

You can stream “crow’s perch” on all streaming sites or you can purchase it in all online digital shops. black midi is on tour starting April 06 in Brussels, BE at BRDCST Festival until September 10 in Cologne, Germany at Bumann & SON. The tour includes U.S. dates starting July 18 in New York, NY at Bowery Ballroom. A complete listing of their upcoming appearances can be accessed here
