The New Song From Big Thief is More Beauty From Upcoming Album

The noodling guitar that opens up the new single “Cattails” from Big Thief should immediately entice anyone who’s become a fan of the band’s sound over the years. Meandering and and just pretty, the second single from their upcoming album U.F.O.F. due in May should peak your ears for what the full length will bring-though it seems likely that it will be stunning.

The way the vocals dance between the notes of guitar and the pop of the drums is a testament to how the group crafts a track. In a time when we want plenty of pop, this songs exists with touches of strings that are upbeat and catchy without selling out in the process. It’s a stunning reminder that Big Thief can encapsulate all that we love about music with ease, and keep us interested no matter what era we’re living in.

The single can be streamed on all streaming sites, you can purchase it digitally from all online music retailers including Bandcamp, and you can pre-order U.F.O.F. directly from 4AD Records before it gets released on May 03. Big Thief is set to begin touring on April 20 at The Irenic in San Diego, CA until November 11 in Columbus, OH at The Athenaeum Theatre.
