Claire Morales Releases Haunting Video for “Sibylle”

Last year when we stumbled upon the music of Denton’s Claire Morales, we were pleasantly pleased with what we found. Morales is having a victory lap after last year’s stunning album, All That Wanting. Now she’s just dropped a video from one of the prettiest tracks off of it “Sibylle,” and it’s entertaining like a scary thriller.

The video, featuring Morales and Ariel Hartley of Pearl Earl, has a very intriguing theme while still fixing your eyes to the screen. It channels TV shows like The Twilight Zone or Twin Peaks, but there’s no people having fever dreams in it. It almost has the narrative of one person chasing someone because they have a similar look. The song, has a reverb soaked guitar that mixes with Morales’ poignant vocals, creating a space that offers a dream-like daze in which to inhabit. The magic is in how this all comes together with a meandering piano, exhibiting the power Morales can hold through slow songs as easily as she can through those that are upbeat.

The video is available to watch above or on YouTube, All That Wanting is available in all digital music retailers, and can be purchased on two different vinyl variants or on compact disc directly from Bandcamp. Claire Morales will be on tour starting April 27 at The Hole in the Wall in Austin, TX until July 13 at Club Dada in Dallas, TX. All of her upcoming shows can be found here.
