Ten years in as a band and The Head And The Heart doesn’t really seem to be slowing down. With a new album Living Mirage due in a couple of weeks the six member collective has another new track, “People Need A Melody” that sheds more light on the sound of the album while giving fans another track worth remembering.
The song has a nice opening complete with multiple sounds coming in before piano and vocals take the lead. The song has a nice tender undercurrent of melody while secondary vocals come along. The sound of two vocalists works best on tracks like this, harmonizing together and letting their voices take the lead. It has an endearing side without getting too sappy and once the drums come in the song opens like a flower in May.
The track is available to stream on all streaming sites, all of the pre-release singles can be purchased in digital music stores and Living Mirage is available to pre-order on multiple formats and bundles directly from Warner Bros. Records ahead of its release on May 17. The Head And The Heart will be on tour starting June 21 in Buffalo, NY at Alternative Buffalo’s Kerfuffle until October 19 in Toronto, ON Canada at Sony Centre for the Performing Arts. A complete list of their tour dates can be found here.
