Sam Cohen may be one of those guys who can just bring it to anything he touches. Ahead of his new album The Future’s Still Ringing In My Ears produced by Danger Mouse set for release next week, his latest single “Man on Fire” proves that Cohen can bring plenty of tone and soul to anything he crafts.
The song has plenty of touches in sixties pop and psych, with guitar tones that sound like a great trip and organs that take you down a rabbit hole of pleasure. Cohen’s vocals just help spread the haze while the upbeat nature of the song holds it in your ears. The natural psychedelia that falls all over the song gives it a bit of a throwback feel, yet it sounds modern and forward at the same time.
“Man on Fire” can be streamed on all streaming sites, it can be purchased from all online music retailers and The Future’s Still Ringing In My Ears can be pre-oredered directly from 30th Century Records before its release on May 17. Sam Cohen is on tour with Kevin Morby beginning tomorrow in Los Angeles, CA at Ace Hotel until June 26 in Helsinki, Finland at Tavastia Klubi. A complete list of his tour dates can be found here.
