Australia is literally brimming with artists who are setting the world ablaze with their talents. One of the best kept secrets on the continent is the alt rock touched folk sounds of Carla Geneve. Aside being called an artist to watch by multiple outlets, Geneve has always seemed to do things her own way. Now with her new album Carla Geneve due in early June, her new single “Yesterday’s Clothes” should stick to your soul while keeping your head bopping in the process.
There’s a hefty weight here, where Geneve plays the guitar like second nature before her vocals dance around the chord structures. Sounding like a seasoned troubadour, her words hit with a passionate honesty while the hooks from the guitar stick in your head. The medium paced track holds and doesn’t let go before the chorus hits and you get to hear her voice hit its most passionate tones. The song is one of the better songs we’ve heard in a good while, expertly crafted and full of guitar rock notes.
“Yesterday’s Clothes” is available to stream on all streaming sites, it can be purchasd as a digital single from all online music retailers and Carla Geneve can be pre-ordered directly from Dot Dash/Remote Control Records ahead of its June 07 release. Carla Geneve will be touring beginning June 10 at Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles, CA until June 20 at Great Scott in Allston, MA. A complete list of her tour dates can be found here.
