Cleveland’s The Sidekicks have been around long enough to see music change multiple times. While they released a new album with Happiness Hours, the four piece is back with a new track and a new tour. With “People’s Court,” The Sidekicks prove they can still be creative twenty years on together.
The song opens with guitar notes that have a somewhat dark tone before the song opens with the vocals. The track is softer than you may be expecting, showing an easier going side of the band. Closer to a solo track, the backing vocals add a depth to the song before it starts getting brighter and brighter in the closing parts of the chorus. It’s definitely a different side to the Cleveland rockers, showcasing there’s still plenty of growth to the band’s sound.
“People’s Court” is available to stream on all streaming sites, it can be purchased in all online music shops and Happiness Hours is available directly from Epitaph Records. The Sidekicks are on tour starting June 22 in Lansing, MI at Three Stacks Festival until August 10 in Baltimore, MD at Ottobar. A complete list of the band’s upcoming tour dates can be found here.
