Depending where you fall in the pop music world, you may or may not know the music of Carlie Hanson. Hanson has had a pretty epic career in a short time, garnering more streams from one track than many artists get from multiple albums. Now with her debut E.P. Junk due in early June, Hanson has released a new track “WYA” and it’s pop music gold.
Softly opening with multiple backing vocals, Hanson builds the verse with snippets of auto-tuned vocals to draw you in. When the dual vocals and the beat drop for the verse, it’s obvious Hanson knows how to get her pop tracks into your head. Catchy and full of plenty of snap, the song is pure pop yet feels a bit deeper than most sugary pop music. Yeas, it may be meant for a youthful set of ears, but good is goo and this track slaps.
“WYA” can be streamed on all streaming platforms, it can be purchased in all digital music shops and Junk can be pre-ordered directly from Warner Bros. Records ahead of it’s June 07 release on a limited signed vinyl. Carlie Hanson is on tour beginning June 06 at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, CA until November 26 at Astor Theatre in Perth, Australia.
