Titus Andronicus Releases Pilot Episode of STACKS, New Single & Tour Dates

In today’s music world, gaining traction with essentially anything can be difficult. Punk as a genre has been watered down to the point that really great punk music stands out above the overproduced mall punk and the bro heavy pop punk worlds. So what’s a punk band to do in terms of standing out? Well the best bands are inventive, which may explain why Titus Andronicus decided to make a ‘day in the life’ type of TV show to help promote their upcoming album An Obelisk. With the pilot episode of STACKS, we see a comical day for singer Patrick Stickles that’s closer to the show Seinfeld or Maron that what you may expect from a well seasoned punk band. Within the episode, a new song “Troubleman Unlimited” resides, and it’s available below away from the episode as well.

While the episode has a thirty-six minute run time, it’s definitely worth taking the time to watch. With moments featuring the bulk of the Merge Records team including Laura Ballance, the show is a pretty funny take of an artist trying to make it in today’s crowded music world. Sure, we get to see the band perform, we get to see Stickles drop a sick rhyme and we get to observe a dance sequence from the band as well, it’s one of the most inventive things we’ve seen in music in many years.

The band also announced a sixty plus city tour that begins in June, and they just dropped a new single “Troubleman Unlimited” with the dates and the video for the song found below.
