It’s been three years since the debut album by Chicago’s Whitney. Since the popularity of that release, the band has been all around, touring at a pretty hectic pace. Now, with a new album Forever Turned Around announced for release in late August, they’ve just dropped a new single called “Giving Up.”
The opener for the album, the song follows what you’d expect from the Chicago group. Co-produced by Brad Cook and Jonathan Rado, the song has lush arrangement with the use of strings alongside traditional instrumentation. With a relaxed feel, the track has plenty of depth coupled with twists and turns where the vocals alone should draw you in as the song ticks along.
“Giving Up” is available to stream on all platforms, it can be purchased from all digital outlets and Forever Turned Around can be pre-ordered directly from Secretly Canadian ahead of its August 30 release date. Whitney will be on tour beginning July 19 in Chicago, IL for Pitchfork Music Festival until December 01 in Dublin, Ireland at The Academy. A complete list of their upcoming appearances cab be found here.
