Black Belt Eagle Scout is easily one of our favorite new artists performing today. We were lucky enough to get to catch her perform recently, and we were stunned at how humbling the experience was. Opening with asking if anyone was from the tribe that inhabited the area originally, she went out of her way to educate everyone in attendance while doing so in the kindest way possible.
The bulk of the set was performed solo and without a band, though it worked. Tearing through the fret board like a true shredder, songs both old and new sounded refreshing in person while her humbling and sincere demeanor made the set rather enjoyable. With the room full, she played new songs with ease, as if she’d been waiting a while to show them to the audience. She closed out the set with Julia Jacklin on drums and a backing band, giving everyone who attended more than they bargained for.
Black Belt Eagle Scout has a new single “At the Party” off of her upcoming album At The Party With My Brown Friends. Her music can be streamed on all platforms and her new album can be pre-ordered directly from Saddle Creek Records ahead of its August 30 release.
