It’s safe to say that after almost twenty five years, Texas’ Spoon haven’t lost their edge. Since their debut album all the way up until their last release Hot Thoughts, the band has kept things fresh and inventive the whole way through. So with that it only makes sense that they’d be ready to release a Greatest Hits album. In July we’ll get Everything Hits At Once: The Best of Spoon. With the album announced, the band has released a new track called “No Bullets Spent,” and it’s on par with everything that will be on the new album.

With the vocals having the tone as if they’re coming off a soundtrack to a film from a distant radio, the hooks immediately hit once the guitars kick in. In some ways, this is classic Spoon while showcasing new techniques at the same time. It continues the band’s R&B infused indie rock sound while growing their sound to new places in the process.

“No Bullets Spent” is available to stream on all platforms, and will be made available as a stand alone 7″ as well as on the Greatest Hits album. Everything Hits At Once: The Best of Spoon is available for pre-order directly from Matador Records ahead of its July 26 release date. Spoon is on tour July 11 in Ridgefield, WA at Sunlight Supply Amphitheater until August 30 in West Palm Beach, FL at Coral Sky Amphitheatre.
