If you’ve ever heard Wye Oak, then you’ve heard the contributions of Andy Stack. Stack, and accomplished artist away from that project, has appeared on multiple releases over the years. However, with all of that he’s ready to go at it alone under the moniker Joyero. Ahead of a debut full length Release the Dogs out in August, his newest single “Dogs” shows a different side to Stack and draws your attention to what may come next.
Opening with a cluster of synth arrangements and what sound like live drums mixed with electronic beats, the vocals are mixed at the top of the track keeping the words in your ears. The song has plenty of up moments that holds your attention, while the mix of live and electronic instruments dance around to craft a catchy and ultimately head bopping experience.
“Dogs” is available to stream on all streaming sites, it can be purchased digitally from all music shops online and Release the Dogs is available for pre-order directly from Merge Records ahead of its August 23 release date. Joyero is on tour beginning July 19 at Boot & Saddle in Philadelphia, PA until November 21 at The Southern in Charlottesville, VA. His complete tour schedule can be accessed here.
