It’s bee a year since we heard anything new from Moon Duo. The psych experimenters toured and dropped a 12″ last year, and we had no idea that they were cooking something up. However with their new single “Stars Are the Light” from their upcoming album by the same name, the two piece alter their sound and move into the future.
Focusing on a more disco inspired theme, the track is more synth heavy and upbeat than you may be expecting. The song definitely showcases a new path for the group while still expanding the minds of whoever hears the song. With plenty of beats and synth arrangements, the dual vocals have a mysterious touch to them that washes over you like the warmth of the sun.
The single can be streamed on all platforms, it can be purchased in all digital music outlets and the band’s seventh album Stars Are the Light can be pre-ordered directly from Sacred Bones Records ahead of its September 27 release. Moon Duo will be on the road beginning October 17 in Ghent, BE at Videodroom until November 27 at Hollywood in Vancouver, BC, Canada. A complete list of their tour dates can be found here.
