Many times in music, when someone comes off as entitled, it’s hard to separate that person from the art that they create. A great example of this would be Liam Gallagher, one of the founding members of British pop darlings Oasis. When we heard he had a new solo album Why Me? Why Not coming in September, we thought that it would probably be a disaster. However so far the songs hit right and work with plenty of pop and jangle. His latest single “The River” not only proves he’s onto something with this album, but it makes us want for more.
While some of the tones of Oasis are here, it’s also difficult to not have that sound with his voice. The song is up with plenty of alternative rock touches that compliment the Brit pop pacing. The shocker here is not only does the song work away from anything else, but it actually draws your attention forcing you to want more from the singer.
The song can be streamed on all streaming sites and purchased in all digital outlets while Why Me? Why Not can be pre-ordered directly from Warner Bros Records before its September 20 release. Liam Gallagher is on tour starting July 04 in Barlo, Italy at Collisioni Festival until February 21, 2020 in Paris, France at Zenith. His complete tour schedule can be found here.
