Melbourne’s Parsnip Releases First Single Off Upcoming Full Length

For a couple of years, Melbourne’s Parsnip has released several 7″ singles to critical acclaim. The four piece has definitely won over anyone who’s heard them before and now with a full length When The Tree Bears Fruit in sight for a late August release, their debut single “Lift Off!” is rife with doo wop nods and happy-go-lucky punk energy.

With a sixties tinged pacing, the song is closer to something from another era with plenty of nods towards early garage rock. There’s a magical tonal quality to the track, where the multiple vocals intertwine with the organ and the snappy drums to create a sound that’s hard not to love. The backing vocals make for a nice touch on a song you’ll be humming days after you first hear it.

“Lift Off!” is available to stream on all platforms, it can be purchased from all digital music stores and When The Tree Bears Fruit is available for pre-order directly from Trouble In Mind Records ahead of its August 30 release. Parsnip is set to perform at The Tote in Collingwood, VIC, Australia on July 27.
