Whether you’re interested in Thee Oh Sees, The Oh Sees or Oh Sees, the band has definitely been on a hot streak of releases in recent times. With a new double album Face Stabber coming in August, the embattled and creative group has just released a new single and video, and “Poisoned Stones” shows that the creative outlet keeps bearing fruit.
The video for the song looks like it could be a video game on the old Nintendo Entertainment System from the eighties. The song, is a mix of psych and garage prog that takes you on a journey through chaotic guitar stabs and energy driven funk that doesn’t really let up. The way the band mixes genres between jazz and alterna-rock here is masterful and shows that the creativity in all that they do isn’t going away, even with a double release.
The video can be viewed above or on YouTube, the song can be streamed wherever you stream music or purchased in all digital music retailers. Face Stabber is available to pre-order directly from Castle Face Records ahead of its release on August 16. Oh Sees are on tour starting July 11 through 13 at Timber! Music Festival in Carnation, WA until October 31 at Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles, CA. The band’s complete tour schedule can be accessed here.
