It’s been a minute, but it appears that Mikal Cronin is back in a big way. Following a rough run of touring, Cronin retreated to a small town in the California mountains and he’s revealed a new album named Seeker due in late October. With that the lead single “Show Me” not only proves that Cronin has returned triumphantly, but he sounds refreshed in the process.
The video and the song both represent change and open a dialogue about being a modern artist. After well documented writer’s block, Cronin sounds better than he has in years and sets himself up for a wondrous cycle around the upcoming record. The melodies in the song alone show that Cronin can’t be held down, as an added orchestral plays and Cronin gives us his all, making us excited about what the full length will ultimately sound like.
“Show Me” can be streamed wherever you stream music, the video can be viewed above or on YouTube and you can pre-order Seeker on multiple formats directly from Merge Records ahead of its October 25 release. Mikal Cronin will be on tour beginning October 25 in Los Angeles, CA at Teragram Ballroom until February 29 in Brighton, UK at The Hope & Ruin. His complete tour schedule can be accessed here.
