Big Thief Announces New Album & Unleashes Emotive New Song

In a time where labels and artists are both trying to find the sweet spot for release timetables, there are bands who are doing things we haven’t seen since the early days of rock music. Though it won’t be six months since their last full length release, Big Thief has just announced a new album titled Two Hands due in October. A companion to U.F.O.F., the band has released their lead single with “Not” and it’s a heartier side to the New York four piece.

With a heavier guitar tone, the song is quickly met with Linker’s vocals that cause a stirring and emotive tone when placed together. Where much of what the band has become known for is the quiet and soft tones, this song has a more ponderous demeanor while still evoking much of what Big Thief has become known for. There’s a heft here that not only lies upfront, but also hides underneath like a firecracker who has moments before exploding, this song is exactly what we want from the band.

The song is available to stream on all streaming sites, it can be purchased from all digital music stores and Two Hands can be pre-ordered directly from 4AD Records ahead of its October 11 release. Big Thief will be on tour tonight in Saint Malo, France at Route du Rock until March 15, 2020 in Aarhus, Denmark at Fonden Voxhall. The band’s complete tour schedule can be accessed here
