Australia’s Alex Lahey is just moments away from the U.S. run of her tour beginning, and she’s still dropping music. The alternative rock artist is on the heels of her latest masterpiece The Best of Luck Club, and her new acoustic version of her track “Unspoken History” reveals the raw nature and pure emotion of the song. Below, a video of the song reveals more to the song and gives fans a different side of what the track is and can be.
The opening strumming should be enough to pull you in. Lahey’s voice has an emotional weight that no record producer could capture while levying a tone that’s sincere and full of tenderness. The version of the song comes off more personal with the cavity of relationships and honesty that can only come from an artist with their instrument. It definitely gives you more thought towards the original version, while pulling you close for this version.
The video is available to view above or on YouTube, The Best of Luck Club can be purchased directly from Dead Oceans on multiple formats and it can be streamed on all platforms. Alex Lahey is on tour starting August 22 in Washington, DC at U Street Music Hall until November 22 in Townsville, Australia at Otherwise. Her complete tour dates including performances throughout North America can be accessed here.
