The Flaming Lips don’t seem to have a problem with the visual aspects of music. Anyone who’s caught the band in person can attest to that, though their videos have always been where their colorful visions come to life. With their strongest album in years, King’s Mouth, they’ve just released a new video for the track “Giant Baby (feat. Mick Jones)” and it will dazzle your eyes with its colorful palette.
Opened up by Fred Armisen like he’s hosting a music video show, the footage of beaded LED lights like the band used on tours in recent years drapes Steve Drozd as he’s cloaked in appearance. In a sea of lighting arrays, the band performs before Wayne Coyne appears in front of an inflated rainbow donning a white suit. It’s all very much what the band has become known for while the song, one of the best from the record plays alongside all of the colorful imagery.
The video can be viewed above or on YouTube, King’s Mouth is available on multiple formats to purchase from Warner Records, it can be purchased digitally in all online music stores or streamed wherever you stream music. The Flaming Lips are on tour starting September 05 in Edinburgh, Scotland at Usher Hall until December 07 in Cholula Puebla, Mexico at Festival Catrina. The band’s complete tour schedule can be found here.
