It seems that while many bands wait for the record to drop before making a ton of moves, San Diego’s Western Settings isn’t one of them. With their new album Another Year coming at the end of this week, the four piece just dropped a new single and video “Big,” and it sounds like the record will be worth digging into.
The song has plenty of high end punk energy with speedy riffs and snappy drums. With those big chords, the song gets met with dual vocals that pop and shimmer while the song speeds through your ears. The video spliced between images of a performer readying before a show and clips of the band performing has a dark edge without actually getting too heavy.
The video can be viewed above or on YouTube, the song can be streamed on all platforms and Another Year can be pre-ordered physically directly from A-F Records ahead of its September 06 release. Western Settings is on tour tonight in Portland, OR at Twilight Cafe & Bar until September 08 in Edmonton, Canada at The Buckingham. The band’s schedule can be found here.
