It seems that pretty much everything that London’s Cavetown puts out is going to be well received. With his new single “Telescope,” the youthful artist sounds stronger than his years ahead of a new run of dates in the U.S. With the bulk of that tour sold out, the newly inked to Sire Records singer songwriter is proving he’s at the right place with each well crafted single he releases.
The song has all the tone and tender influence that falls in line with artists like Elliott Smith and Belle and Sebastian. The magic in how Cavetown writes and arranges his music is that it is essentially pop in the framing of folk music. Here we find symphonic undertones and varying acoustic instrumentation met with pop keys and notes that open the track up and give it more weight than the typical pop song. “Telescope” is the young artist showcasing how far he’s come since putting music on YouTube, without stripping away his core sound in the process.
“Telescope” is available to stream on all streaming sites and it can be purchased wherever you download music via Sire Records. Cavetown is on tour beginning October 02 at The Haunt in Ithaca, NY until February 29, 2020 at 02 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London, UK. His complete tour schedule is available here.
