Brooklyn’s Big Thief don’t seem to be slowing down as the year plays out. With a second new album Two Hands, due in a little over a week, the band seems to be just fine with a two albums in one year schedule. The four piece has just released a new single “Forgotten Eyes” that has a more indie rock feel than previous efforts, while still holding the band’s core in tact.
The song feels more grand than the songs from their earlier album this year. Adrianne Linker’s voice meshes well with the snappier stride of the song. Buck meek’s guitar has this nice snarl that intertwines with the drums, giving off the feel that the song was recorded live. It’s a very in the moment feels that comes off as organic and natural. The lyrics stick with you as Linker stands above here with the more upbeat and indie rock touched track.
“Forgotten Eyes” can be streamed above or on all platforms, Two Hands is available for pre-order directly from 4AD Records before its October 11 release as well. Big Thief is on tour starting October 09 in Brooklyn, NY at Brooklyn Steel until March 15, 2020 in Aarhus, Denmark at Fonden Voxhall. The band’s complete tour schedule can be accessed here.
