The other night we were granted access to catch Khruangbin at their homecoming show in Houston, Texas and the trio pulled out all of the stops. Playing in front of the largest crowd the band has drawn in the city since blowing up, it was nice to see the city of Houston finally appreciate a band from their own city enjoying some much deserved success.
Playing snippets of covers like “Sharp Dressed Man” by ZZ Top and more before launching into fan favorites like “Evan Finds the Third Room” and “Maria Tambien;” the trio lit up the Houston skyline with their chilled energy. The band even brought out fellow Texan Leon Bridges to perform a few songs with them, exciting all in attendance even further. Electrifying from start to finish, Khruangbin not only proved why they’re so popular, they backed it up with their strongest performance in their hometown to date.
Con Todo El Mundo and Hasta El Cielo (Con Todo El Mundo In Dub) can both be purchased directly from Dead Oceans. They can also be purchased in all digital music retailers or streamed on all platforms. Khruangbin will be at VMF Festival on November 07 in Lima, Peru and their tour extends until December 08 in Paris, France at LE BATACLAN. The band’s entire schedule can be located here.
