Since signing to major label Sire, Oxford’s Cavetown hasn’t slowed down his stream of singles. Before his signing, fans know that he readily released singles at a rate higher than most in his genre. Now in the middle of another primarily sold out tour, he’s released his strongest track this year with “Things That Make It Warm.”
Gentle and easy going, the song is a stronger arrangement from the young singer songwriter. The recording sounds very in the moment, where the strings can be heard between the vocals. Robin Skinner definitely has a more directed tone here, still sounding sincere but also more seasoned. The catchy and organic structure has these beautiful extra instruments that breathe and add life.
Things That Make It Warm can be purchased via Sire Records in all digital storefronts. It can also be streamed on all platforms. Cavetown is on tour tonight in Boston, MA at Newbury Comics until April 25 in Saint Petersburg, Russia at Kosmonavt. His complete tour schedule is available here.
