It’s pretty safe to say that after releasing one of our favorite albums of last year, Nashville’s Soccer Mommy is more than ready to take on the world. With a new run of headlining tour dates just announced they’ve shared a new single “yellow is the color of her eyes” alongside a video that should stir your soul as it plays.
Immediately two things come into frame as the track plays. The production is of a higher grade and the songwriting is more dense and full of tonal qualities. The weight in which the track hangs without feeling like it has a seven minute run time is masterful, while Sophie Allison’s vocals take your ears to a harmonious plane. The video matches the tone and color of the track, proving that this collaboration between Allison and director Alex Ross Perry is something we’d love to see more of.
