With a handful of tour dates behind The Black Keys‘ new album Let’s Rock, the band is definitely pulling out all of the stops. The other night they stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! and gave those in attendance two of the album’s songs and showed they came to get down in the process.
On their performance of “Go” the band doesn’t waste time in digging in. Performing as a five piece, there’s little doubt that the band isn’t ready to bring energy to the song. With both members at the front of the stage and backing members behind them, the song has a new life as performed here.
For “Lo/Hi,” the same could be said. There’s plenty of heft in the performance of the song as a five piece. Backed by lightning bolts on a screen, the riffs hit hard and the drums snap underneath. For anyone who’s caught the band before, they know this is how they roll. For anyone who hasn’t, it’s definitely a glimpse into their live shows.
Both videos can be viewed above or on YouTube. Let’s Rock is available to purchase directly from Nonesuch Records on multiple formats. It’s also available to stream on all streaming sites and downloaded from all outlets. The Black Keys are on tour tonight at Chase Center in San Francisco, CA until January 18 at The Forum in Inglewood, CA. The band’s complete tour routing can be accessed here.
