New Short King Krule Film is Dense With Unreleased Tracks

Any fan of King Krule should be more than happy to watch his new short film, Hey World! Aside from the fact that it’s Krule related content, the singer essentially debuts four unreleased songs within the film’s sixteen minute run time. Alongside a new run of tour dates for next March and April, the film gives you a glimpse into the singer’s intriguing mind.

The fil opens with the lo-fi folk undercurrents of “Perfecto Miserable” that shows Krule mixing easy going folk with lo-fi sensibilities. While “Alone Omen 3” is more introspective. Delivered with just rhymes over an electric guitar, it’s a mix of what Krule has done in the past while still sounding fresh. “(Don’t Let the Dragon) Draag On” has a more impromptu feel, adding to the mystery of what Krule does. The closing track “Energy Fleets” is on its own here. With Krule singing over an electric guitar, there’s elements of free jazz and indie rock blended together with lo-fi sound and precise movements. The songs are all featured with King Krule performing in different states of the outdoors.

The film can be viewed above or on YouTube. The latest release The OOZ is available on multiple formats directly from Matador Records. King Krule is on tour beginning March 03 in Brussels, Belgium at AB Main Hall until April 25 in Brooklyn, NY at Kings Theatre. His complete tour schedule can be located here
