Khruangbin & Leon Bridges Team Up For New EP & Drop Lead Single

Sometimes when artists come together on a project, it just seems like a natural fit. When two artists from Texas are on the rise, the odds of them getting together on a project are more likely than you may think. So while we’ve always contended that Khruangbin would sound fire with some vocals thrown into the mix, we would have never seen the collaboration with Leon Bridges coming if we weren’t already in the know. We also caught Bridges perform with the Houston funk masters about a month ago, and their new single “Texas Sun” shines as bright as the promise of their new EP by the same name.

The track opens with the Southern charm you’d expect from Bridges before that signature soulful tone from Khruangbin comes in. Bridges’ vocals pair perfectly with the trio’s meandering sound, showcasing how strong the two acts work together. The song has this chill pace that gets bookmarked with country tones and funky riffs. The song brings it all home and makes us excited for what the EP will ultimately sound like.

The single can be streamed on all streaming sites or purchased from all digital music shops. Texas Sun is available for preorder directly from Dead Oceans before its February 07 release. Khruangbin is on tour tomorrow in Amsterdam, Netherlands at Paradiso until December 08 in Paris, France at LE BATACLAN. Their tour dates can be accessed here. Leon Bridges is set to perform at Intersect Festival in Las Vegas, NV December 06 through 07.
