Terry Allen Digs Deep on Latest Single

In the world of great storytellers from Texas, there’s no doubt that Terry Allen is at the top of that list. Allen has always had the ability to mix his tales from abroad into his music with ease, and his new single “Bad Kiss” is no exception. The new song from his upcoming album Just Like Moby Dick tells a story as only Allen could tell it, while holding your attention from open to close.

The slow build that the song takes helps build the story that much better. Allen tells the tale of love and the war in Afghanistan here with backing vocals that help spin the tale. With a slower stride you’re focused on the words here, though the backing electric guitar and piano help move the track along. It’s deep and emotional while showing the strengths of Allen as a songwriter.

The song can be streamed above or on YouTube. Just Like Moby Dick is available for preorder directly from Paradise of Bachelors ahead of its January 24 release. Terry Allen is set to perform in Austin, TX at Paramount Theatre on January 18, at Zebulon in Los Angeles, CA on February 15 & 16 and in Washington, DC at City Winery on May 23.
