2019 has been a very good year for Texas’ Gary Clark Jr. Behind his stellar new album This Land, Clark Jr. has received plenty of accolades and grown is fan base at the same time. Now as the year draws to a close, he’s released a new version of his track “Pearl Cadillac” now featuring vocals from Andra Day.

This version begins like the original. In fact it’snot until the second verse does Day come in and in many ways, steals the show. Her addition to the track offers a more uplifting tone than the original without killing the intent. It shows a different side to Clark Jr.’s sound while still delivering the wondrous arrangements that fall all over his music.
