DIIV Drops Low Cover Featuring Tomberlin on Sirius

This year we’ve gotten to witness a rebirth of New York’s DIIV. Their latest release Deceiver is a return to pedal heavy guitars and alt rock structures. Now as the album makes its way on to multiple year end lists, the band has shared a cover of the Low track “Words” featuring a guest spot from Tomberlin.

The band definitely makes the cover their own here. Cultivating the dark tones that Low is known to employ, they still find a way to cut through and offer their own version of the track. The quieted vocals help get things going before Tomberlin adds her voice to the mix. The result is a mix of softness and heavy weight tones that sparkle in how they play out.

The track can be streamed above or on YouTube. Deceiver is available on multiple formats directly from Captured Tracks, It’s also available to stream or download. DIIV is on tour February 20 at SWX in Bristol, UK until June 11 at Sideways Festival in Helsinki, Finland. Their complete tour routing can be accessed here
