Tomar and the FCs Drop Stirring New Single

For a minute now, we’ve had our eyes on the soulful sounds of Austin’s Tomar and the FCs. Coming along in a sea of blue-eyed-soul acts who just don’t offer the gut punch we think makes the genre so engaging, they’re very much like what we’ve been jonesing for. The band is made up of consummate professionals while Tomar himself reminds you of Sam Cooke and Otis Redding. With a new album titled Rise Above due in February, their new single of the same name is on another level.

The old school vibes that come on the track will get you in to that early Motown groove. The way the vocals pop above the ivories creates a whimsical tone before the brass comes in and draws you near like a lover in the dark. While the backing vocals make for a nice touch, it’s the soulful tones that the band creates that make the track hard to deny and easy to love.

“Rise Above” is available to stream above or on Soundcloud. Rise Above the album will be made available by Splice Records on February 01 on multiple formats. Tomar and the FCs will be performing at The Continental Club in Austin, TX on December 31.
