WIRE Sounds Refreshed on Second Single Off Upcoming Full Length

When WIRE returned to release new music, many who were long time fans of the band were shocked that it was happening. In that time the band has released some of their best material to date while continuously pushing forward to sound steps if not leaps ahead of anyone else attempting to make post-punk music. While they’re now prepped and ready for their new album Mind Hive to drop in late January, their latest single “Primed & Ready” signals that WIRE hasn’t slowed down. In fact, the song declares how forward they still are all these years after their first run together.

The song opens with a more electronic haze before traditional instruments come in. The distanced vocals and the fuzz underneath have a nice ring to them together. The track has a lot of depth, though that should be expected. Finding its pace between medium stride and easy going, the song ticks and clicks with a dissonant tone. It’s post-punk with a new twist that no one else is seemingly doing, proving WIRE will always be ahead of everyone else.

“Primed & Ready” is available to stream above or on all streaming sites. Mind Hive is available for preorder directly from the band’s website ahead of its January 24 release. WIRE will be on tour beginning January 27 in Bristol, UK at The Fleece until July 03 through 05 in Moscow, Russia at Bol Festival. Their complete tour schedule is located here
